Capital Meets Hard Tech: Inside 247VC's Tech Talk

Twenty Founders. One Room. No Mute Button.

One Tech Talk. Two Dozen Partnerships.

The best ideas in technology rarely emerge from a slide deck, but surface in hallways, over coffee, in the middle of an argument about product-market fit. That's the belief behind 247VC's first Tech Talk - NCR Series. Our deliberate effort to create the kind of room where value creation happens.

India's startup ecosystem is producing genuinely hard technology across every vertical. Medical devices, Hybrid powertrains, Quantum computing infrastructure, Genomics, Supply chain intelligence and so much more. Tech builders working in these verticals rarely get the chance to be in the same room - to compare notes, stress-test assumptions, and encounter the perspectives that only other builders can offer.

This Tech Talk was our answer to that gap. Not a pitch night. Not a panel. A direct, collaborative, and high-quality gathering of technology entrepreneurs who are building technology companies to last.

Who Was In The Room

Tech Talk - NCR Series brought together founders working across an exceptionally wide range of technology domains. What united was a shared disposition: building products where the technology itself is the differentiator. The companies represented spanned:

•   Healthtech and medtech: compressing a six-hour genomics annotation and variant classification workflow into five minutes, with implications for how genetic diagnoses are delivered at scale.

•   AI infrastructure and enterprise automation: building multilingual speech-to-speech AI at the edge for enterprises and governments.

•   Supply chain and trade intelligence: building cross-border regulatory and compliance infrastructure. Solutions around AI-driven supply chain visibility and disruption prediction for manufacturers.

 •   EV and energy technology: hybrid powertrain conversion systems that allow manufacturers to retrofit conventional petrol vehicles. Modular lithium battery packs with submersible liquid cooling, designed specifically for India's harsh operating conditions.

•   Hardware and spatial computing: designers of AI-powered smart glasses, VR/XR headsets, and immersive display systems. Product being built, an orbital transfer vehicle that solves the last-mile problem in space by moving small satellites to their final operational orbit.

•   Sales, revenue, and GTM intelligence: a revenue OS that ingests CRM, email, call, and communication data to tell sales teams exactly which action to take next on a stalled deal. AI that provides AI-driven audit and fraud detection analytics for enterprise financial operations.

•   Deep tech and emerging platforms: Working on post-quantum cryptographic infrastructure. Another providing a hardware-agnostic quantum computing development environment.

What Got Covered

The most valuable part of any discussion is contextualizing. It is what gets discussed when founders are in close proximity to people who understand the specific texture of their technology, sector and problems.

The evening was anchored by a sharp and disarmingly practical address from 247VC advisor Deepak Khetrapal - veteran business leader and former MD & CEO of Orient Cement and Orient Electric - who distilled decades of corporate experience into a framework every founder in the room could use immediately.

Themes emerging organically:

Enterprise Adoption

Gap between a successful pilot and a scaled deployment - legacy infrastructure, procurement cycles, and organisational inertia are not engineering problems. They require a completely different muscle. Framing pilots as strategic P&L units tied to C-suite outcomes, rather than IT vendor evaluations, has changed the nature of enterprise conversations.

Defensibility in AI-Commoditisized World

What happens when the platform you're building on replicates what you do? Proprietary data, domain-specific model training, and deep workflow integration - not the AI layer itself - as real moat. Company A’s ingestion of deal-specific communication data, Company B’s performance feedback loops, and Company C’s application of formal verification methods to smart contracts are all examples of this logic in practice.

Hard Hardware

Timelines are longer. Capital requirements are higher. Their failure modes are less recoverable. But their moats, when built, are also more durable. Founders holding hard-won technical knowledge that cannot be replicated quickly, will have an edge, always.

Regulatory Competitive Advantage

For founders in healthcare, quantum cryptography, defence, and space, regulatory navigation is not a box to check - it is part of the product. Founders who engage proactively with regulators, rather than treating compliance as a downstream concern, build credibility that becomes a genuine barrier to entry.

The Tech Talk Hit Different.

Only worth the time if people leave with something they didn't have when they walked in.

•   Peer validation on hard problems: Knowing that other founders are navigating the same enterprise friction, the same data quality issues, and the same investor questions is more useful than it sounds. It converts isolation into perspective.

•   Investor context without the pitch: Understanding how a Deeptech VC with experience in driving scale and eventual exit in the domain thinks about defensibility, team architecture, and market timing.

•   Connections across adjacent domains: Cross-domain introductions made have the potential to become partnerships, pilot customers, or co-development opportunities.

•   Honest feedback on assumptions: The most useful conversations are the uncomfortable ones - where a founder's core assumption about their market is challenged by someone who had tried something similar.

•   A clearer sense of the funding landscape: 247VC investment thesis, cheque size , what stage and  and what signals matter most.
